Technical support via our 800 number is available to all schools, but the cost of your access to it is substantially reduced if you have been properly trained by an ‘Authorized Mac School Trainer’. Many of our dealers and some independent consultants are Authorized Mac School Trainers. Chancery Software also offers on-site school training. Your support options are as follows: 1) If you are trained by an ‘Authorized Mac School Trainer’ and you only require 800 number support for six months after the training: • You will receive free technical support on the 800 number for six months after the training has taken place. • To receive software updates, you have the option of either i) paying the greater of $50.- per module or the difference in list price should on exist, or ii) paying $250.- per annum and receiving free updates. 2) If you are trained by an ‘Authorized Mac School Trainer’ and you require 800 number support on an ongoing basis. • You will receive free technical support on the 800 number for six months after training, and thereafter, you pay an annual fee of $475.- • You will receive free upgrades for as long as you maintain this option. We urge you to arrange training for your school as this is the most cost effective option. (If you share the cost of training with four other schools, the payback period is under six months as the cost of 800 support drops from 1400.- per annum to $475.- per annum for the first year -- a savings of $925.-) 3) If you elect not to be trained by an ‘Authorized Mac School Trainer’ and you do require 800 number support: • You can purchase 800 number support for the first year at an annual fee of $1400.- and thereafter at an annual rate of $600.- • You will receive free upgrades for six months after purchase of the software and thereafter, for as long as you maintain this support option. • There is no free period of 800 number support. 4) If you elect not to be trained by an ‘Authorized Mac School Trainer’ and you do not require 800 number support: • You will receive any upgrades without charge for six months after purchase of the software. Thereafter, you have the option of either: i) paying the greater of $50.- per module or the difference in list price should one exist, or: ii) paying $250.- per annum and receiving free upgrades. • There is no free period of 800 number support. District Telephone Support Program Our telephone support is designed to assist individual schools with technical support issues. However, we realize that in many instances, the school district itself, (rather than an individual school) would like to make special arrangements with Chancery so that schools within their districts receive cost-efficient support for Mac School. The District Telephone Support Program works as follows: • You nominate a school within your district to be known as your ‘Designated School’. The Designated School will be charged $400.00 for technical support, each additional school up to 10 within your district will be charged $100.00 per year, and each school thereafter at $50.00 each. • All technical support questions and our answers for your entire district will be funneled through a single, trained individual. This individual can be a computer coordinator, principal, teacher, secretary or anyone else you so desire as long as there is only a single person who will be calling for technical support . This technical support person for your district must also advise us when calling of the registration number of their Designated School. We ask that you inform all people in your district of this District Telephone Support Program so that our technical support people will not be put in a position of having to refuse telephone calls from individuals other than the designated person. • Disk updates and supporting documentation for all your schools are sent to a central location, preferably the Designated School. We hope that by offering this District Telephone Support Program we will be able to provide you better telephone support on a more cost-efficient basis. However, if you wish, you can still sign up each school within your district for their own individual support and upgrades. If you would like to sign up for our District Telephone Support Program, or have any questions regarding the above, please contact Chancery Software. -- part contents for card part 3 ----- text ----- Technical Support
